Learn the ancient art of marbling on paper in this two-day workshop. Students will explore color combinations and marbling techniques through both traditional (Ebru) and non-traditional approaches on paper. Marbling consists of suspending inks on a bed of thickened water (carrageenan). These inks are raked through a series of swirls, zig-zags, and other gestures to transform a design. The outcome is then transferred onto a surface of choice. Beginner through intermediate students welcome. Previous experience with marbling is not necessary; a thorough introduction and series of demos will guide students through the workshop experience.
