About the event

Explore the basic structure of Coptic Stitch and French Link bookbinding by making a one-of-a-kind handmade book for each structure. Coptic bindings are considered the first true codices. This one-day workshop will introduce participants to two techniques of non-supported sewing, the Coptic stitch using multiple needles and the French Link using one needle. In addition to the two books completed during the workshop, students will leave with knowledge of basic structure and sewing techniques.
